2025 Outer Banks SPLASH Open Water Swim

Don't miss the inaugural Outer Banks SPLASH Open Water Swim, featuring 1K, 1-mile and 2-mile races from the Old Swimming Hole on the northwest shore of Roanoke Island. Each race will have an in-the-water start and occur along a triangular course with right shoulder turns. The 1-mile and 2-mile races will be marked with the repeating course and the 1K race will use the interim buoy one and turn buoy as its turn buoys.

Please Note: Wet suits will be allowed ONLY IF the water temperature is below 78°. Fins, buoys or paddles are NOT allowed.

What: 1K, 1-mile & 2-mile swim races

Race Fees

1K: $39 by May 14th / $45 by June 12th
1-Mile: $49 by May 14th / $56 by June 12th
2-Mile: $59 by May 14th / $66 by June 12th

Please Note: Registration closes at midnight two days prior to the event. There will be NO race day registration.

To guarantee that you get a t-shirt, please register at lease two weeks prior to race day.

Proceeds will go to Outer Banks Family YMCA to ensure that everyone has continued access to their life-changing programs.

All swimmers must have a USAT card prior to racing. If you don't already have one, you can purchase a one-day card for $15.

Packet Pick-Up

Packet pick-up will begin on race day around 6 a.m. and close at 7:30 a.m. You should arrive no later than 7 a.m. to get your stuff and get situated.

Weather

Wet suits will be allowed ONLY IF the water temperature is below 78°.

In the event of inclement weather on race day, we will delay start for up to 45 minutes. Since this is a fundraising event, if we have to cancel for safety reasons, no refunds or transfers will be given.

Awards

Awards will go to the Top 3 Males and Top 3 Females in each the 1K, 1-mile and 2-mile races.

A selection of goodies will be available for ALL swimmers.
