Dear 2025 Outer Banks Marathon Weekend Participants,

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we have taken time to regroup and reassess the next steps following the cancellation of the 2025 event. Our team has worked diligently to determine the best way to honor your commitment and participation.

We are pleased to share that all registered runners will be offered a complimentary deferral to the 2026 TowneBank Outer Banks Marathon Weekend, which also marks our 25th Anniversary Celebration. The event will take place November 6–8, 2026, and will include the Marathon, Half Marathon, 8K/5K, and the Color Fun Run.

Deferral Details

• Each registered participant will receive a unique deferral code via email later this month.
• Deferrals must be completed (activated online) by February 1, 2026.
• Your code will allow you to enter the 2026 race of your choice.
• There will be s $10.00 deferral activation fee (plus online processing fee) and optional race insurance will be offered to each racer.

If You Choose Not to Defer

For those who prefer not to participate in the 2026 event, we will be happy to send your 2025 medals and participant swag directly to you. Additional instructions for this option will be included with your deferral code email.
